The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos Lacrosse program was founded in 1969. The team competes nationally in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and in the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL). Throughout the program's history, the Gauchos have won two MCLA National Championships, seven WCLL Championships, and have reached the MCLA "final four" seven times.
